Machete opened its doors in Mexico City in November 2012 as a gallery focused on contemporary Latin American art. We choose the artists we represent based on their creative processes, with the vision of a “whole” that goes beyond the final work itself. We believe that through their practice, our artists are reflecting on both their personal and collective contexts as part of a specific historical period. Each one of our artists has a distinct “voice” and visual language, as we aim for diversity to achieve a conversation that is inclusive and plural.
